could someone please tell me the point of the clear face shield in the helmets? I already know of the arbitrary rule of the ncaa that states that they can't be tinted. The tinted would make sense.
The main intent of the rule change was to allow medical personnel to see players eyes in case of head injury/trauma. The tinted version obstructed/impeded their view.
Running backs typically wear them. They are laying at the bottom of a pile, things happen. Ive really only ever see skill players on offense wear them. Since hands are grabbing at them to tackle. Accidents happen.
