I went to the game last night, my daughter was twirling in the halftime show.My wife and I had our Alabama jackets on and we had a ball, Met several Bama fans there as well . Got alot of Roll Tides!!! from hokie fans.
I went to the game with the mindset of just hoping to enjoy a good game without the pressure of having to pull for a team.I was torn... I love the SEC, I hate Tennessee and I respect Frank Beamer and The VT program.
So I really didn't want to be in the position to pull for one of the other.
I soon realized this... The VT fans were really cool, thet were out numbered @ the Georgia Dome at least 70-30.For the most part the Tennessee fans were terrible, hollering that Bama sucked to us,Buck Fama, Go horns, and other rude looks and gestures.It didn't take us long to be pulling for Viginia Tech and their very classy fans. Tenessee fans are an embarrassement to the SEC.I will never pull for them against anybody.

Yep I feel the same way. I was rooting for VT in that game, for NW in the Auburn game, and every other SEC game I root for the SEC team.

every team has their stupid fans, some have more than others.

Based on the history between Tenn and Bama, I don't expect a Tenn fan to root for Bama, much like I don't expect a Bama fan to root for Tenn. I guess I don't see an issue with them saying go Texas, but thats me.

I was surely thinking go VaTech during that game last night. Also, wearing Bama gear to another teams game is kinda asking for attention, especially at a Tenn game. Not sure why you expected them to be any different.

I attended the first Music City Bowl, Bama vs. VT. I was impressed with their fans. Frank Beamer is pure class as well. I even got to know a former player, who was a produce a Frank Beamer. But for the Vick Brothers, VT would be one of my favorite teams.

I still feel that we are better off if the SEC goes 10-0 in the bowls, so I will root for the SEC.

The tennessee fans are a whole nother matter. I have met few who showed class like amost any other team you can name. As my Wife says, in reference to UT fans, Every Family has THAT Uncle.

It happens with every fan base. For anyone who was at A-Day, remember the guy who walked into Bryant Denny with all orange (Tenn fan) was soundly booed.......at our spring game? Now he was kind of asking for it and most just chuckled but kind of the same thing, you know?
