As mentioned, last season there was a total of 186 brackets we kept track of from Jan through March Madness. As of today, there are 48 brackets published. In those, the worst seeding for the Tide is at #5, the best is as a #2 seed.

@50+yeartidefan on the announcing note earlier...I believe TBS has the Final Four and Championship game. Grant Hill is the color guy on their man crew. Spero __ & _ Greenburg. I believe they rotated eight this year.

Saw big article the other day about broadcast picking up events to get more buying their streaming. ...and cutting out many that are just living on over-air broadcast.
( i picked up couple streaming formats...but still use over-air). ....
Guess they will cut me out

NET: Bama moves up from #20 to #16.

With 98 brackets published, Bama has also moved up to the four line.

(Both are at the top of the page.)

 
There are still updates that need to run on a few sites. It looks like the win over Auburn last night will drop Bama one spot in the NET (down to 17.) But, it also looks like Bama is pretty assured of a four seed in the dance. There was only one bracket (out of 101) that had Bama as a five and they've since updated their bracket: Bama as a four in the Michigan bracket.

As Bracket Matrix updates today ... they currently have Bama at #14, overall.

A few games today that have teams ranked higher than Bama...a Maryland win today wouldn't hurt.

I mentioned his accuracy. It's my opinion he's an idiot using others projections as his own. Okay, a little harsh, maybe.

But. Do me a favor. Look at his bracket and tell me how it makes sense. it doesn't. He's literally ignoring something the NCAA's selection committee's (multiple) have done over the years. They do their best to avoid regular season rematches.

And he has Bama in a bracket where ... how many of those teams have they played?

I like Joe it's obvious you don't. I think he does a decent job. We have played at least 17 teams that will make the dance so we will most likely be in a bracket with teams we have already played that's just the way it is.

I don't have a problem with Joe (though I think his graphics are piss poor.) He isn't accurate and hasn't been with his projections.

He gets his recognition because of his platform, not his results. In a sense, he's in the same ilk Fallica was on GameDay where people were paying attention to what he said but not how right or wrong he was. (The same thing happened with Palm and CBS and he's since been replaced by someone worse and one who focuses on lines more than seedings.)

One of the reasons I reference Matrix is they keep a running tally on accuracy in a five year window. I look at their accuracy rankings and compared those to brackets. How much "faith" should one put in a guy who ranked #125th in accuracy last season? There were more brackets in 2024 and he came in the rankings in the mid 160's. He was a little better '23 around #120.
 
There's a long standing trope about how conference tournaments don't have a lot of an affect on "The Dance." I think that's true and false. A bubble team, getting bounced on day one of their tournament? Yeah, that's gonna matter. Winning the tournament as a lower seed? Yes, that will matter as well. (A case in point would be AU who likely needs to win to get an invitation.)

If 'Zaga wins the West Coast? I could see them jumping Bama. If Purdue keeps losing I can see Bama getting a bump.
