Robinson said 10 of the defendants have had preliminary hearings so far, and Farmerās is the first to be dismissed. The judge who heard evidence against Farmer, he said, had previously heard evidence against six other suspects and said Farmerās case was not similar to the others. āThe facts of his case were not remotely similar to the other 15,āā Robinson said.
While the judge did not forward Farmerās case to a grand jury for indictment consideration, prosecutors still could do so. Robinson said he did not know if prosecutors will do that and said Farmer does not face any additional charges for now. He declined to elaborate on the specifics of his clientās case.
Robinson said he and his client are glad to have the preliminary hearing and are pleased with the outcome. āIt has been quite upsetting for family and friends and not being able to communicate the real facts,āā he said.
