say we get in and wind up playing oklahoma for the championship. what are your thoughts on Tua vs Jalen in a shootout.

take what you know about both regarding their total time as a qb (in college). we know both pretty well. we've seen both play plenty of minutes in big games. so what are your thoughts?

I would bring a safety down to spy Hurts so he doesn't break any big runs due to great coverage and a good rush. Double Ceedee Lamb, and just play ball. Sermon reminds me a ton of TJ Yeldon, so I think we can account for him by spying Hurts.

@sk33tr, our defense won’t be playing two hand touch with Jalen if we meet like they had to do while he was at Bama. I hope they lose three or four so it doesn’t happen.

But if it does, I believe we can cover their receivers but they can’t cover ours. Tua wins versus Jalen.

The narrative has been that Bama has trouble with mobile QBs in the past...... it would be an intriguing matchup. Must watch tv in my opinion

Good lord both teams are focused on game #2 and you're wanting to talk about a potential match-up in games #14 or #15?

As Jalen just stated, #RatPoison

yes...i'm wanting to talk about a POTENTIAL match-up in game 15 (not 14, but 15...the national championship game).

i'm a fan. i don't have to cave to (or care about) any rat poison or anything like that. nothing i say, do, or think affects the team in any way, shape, or form. i'm not a player...i'm not a coach....i'm just as fan. so yeah...i'm talking about the very last game after the very first game. AS A HYPOTHETICAL!

it doesn't hurt anything, it doesn't do anything bad, or bring any bad juju to the team or the players. no one from the team or the coaching staff is on this board or cares what is said on this board, or any other board, for that matter. as fans, we have the luxury of talking about anything and everything. we don't have to subscribe to the coaches rat poison philosophy in hopes of being a better player/team. we're fans...plain and simple.

and i know both teams are focused on game #2; as they should be. they're the teams....not us. we're the fans. we can speculate about anything or any match-up we want without it causing anything bad to happen or something bad getting in our heads.

There will be 10 other guys on the field with Tua and Jalen and 11 guys trying to stop them. In other words, it's not a Tua vs Jalen contest. Based on past years, I would think Alabama's defensive 11 have better success.

We're through one week so it's impossible to know how things are going to play out.

That said, I don't think Houston is a benchmark to judge OU through at this point. I'm more inclined today to believe Texas can beat them twice than I was a month ago. We're still going to be talking about their defensive issues and that's going to be framed with games where they face a team that has an offense.

I'm of the opinion it's more of a question as to whether OU will make it to the CFB playoffs than what they'd do if they were to meet Bama.
