In trying to read every tiny tea leaf about the upcoming University of Alabama football season, prognosticators try everything. The predictors (and I belong in this boat, too) try to analyze how every instance of players jockeying for position, or every mood swing of the team, is going to affect the record. And, in the course of poring over the minutiae, sometimes some fairly large and significant things — the sort of things that can really impact a football team — get overlooked.
For instance, John Parker Wilson isn’t a sophomore any more. He’s a junior now.
