🏈 CBS Sportswriter thinks Saban is a bully.

Some might not like it but at times Coach Saban can be an A hole. But like I tell my family he is "our A hole" and I wouldn't want anyone else to be our coach.

Funny, that's exactly what I used to say when he was our (LSU's) coach! I love how he handles the media--they deserve to be put in their place. I love watching Les Miles with the media too, but it's a TOTALLY different dynamic, to say the least.

Ok, so we are having a "coming clean" moment here on RTB.com? I will join in....

I happen to like Les Miles. I know, shoot me! I find him affable and basically a good man. He is also a pretty darn good coach and I consider him a worthy adversary. What he has done despite personnel issues not of his own doing has been pretty remarkable.

Ok. I am sorry. That's the last nice thing I'll say about LSU until they beat Awburn.

LOL! Yeah. He's a rabble rouser but from CBS I wouldn't put this past Mr. Dodd either.

Dodd offers opinions in his pieces that a lot don't like, but if you think about it he seldom "editorializes." That's Gregg's schtick. With so many question marks surrounding his school it was just a matter of time.

If Mizzou gets slapped this weekend I'd expect to see something pretty harsh from Dodd directed at some school in the next week or two. But, it'll be veiled.

I really expected to get slammed by a lot of you. Made me smile to see that some of you agree with me. There is no doubt that in my opinion he is the best coach in college football. Would I want to spend time with him....I'm not sure....don't know how he would be away from the job......wait a minute he is never away from the job. These are GREAT times to be a BAMA fan and what's nice is you don't have to say anything to anyone that is not a BAMA fan you can tell by the look on thier face that they really don't want to line up and play us. Life is good right now so everyone enjoy it.

ROLL TIDE ROLL

I don't have a problem with him going off on the media or even our fanbase. It is so hard to keep the minds of young men in a focused state. When I coached HS ball, you never knew what was going thru their minds. Same can be said at this level. Questions about family, GFs, classwork, exams, etc. are just some of the things that coaches have to fight to keep a player focused. If him reaming out media or fans reels in the players from getting a little bit of the BIG head, or get their nose out of all of the news clippings, then CNS has done what was intended.

I've not seen anyone get slammed for voicing an opinion here in a long time. One of the things I'm thankful for is the members here understand that everyone has an opinion and it might differ from their own but that doesn't mean you have to slam their opinion just because it's different.

BTW, life is pretty damn good right now if you're a Bama fan. At my age, as a kid I enjoyed Coach Bryant's 1970's even though the later days were my early teen years. Stallings reminded me of what could happen if the right person was in place. Now, as an adult, I'm living it twice in a lifetime. Literally, experiencing something I did as a child. Now, with the understanding of just what I witnessed some 30+ years ago.

Yep. I won't say I'm 'relaxed' on game day, but it seems like now is reminiscent of the way Bama was perceived back then. Highly respected coach winning championships, barn positively envious, press either glows or cringes at the mention of our dominance, and instead of CPB poor-mouthing his own team he chides press for artificially building them up.
Good Times...

It's a lot different on game days than during Stallings days. In SEC play, it seems more often than not I recall games that were close in the 4th quarter. But, I do recall feeling very much at ease knowing it would turn out OK in the end.

Now, how often do you almost get bored in the second half? Geez, our margin of victory...

As a general rule I'm against bullying, but I hope the next time Saban and Doyle cross paths, Saban corners him, takes Doyle's lunch money and knocks his note pad and recorder to the floor and keeps on walking while Scott Cochran follows yelling, "Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeahhhhhh" and holding up 4 fingers!

What was that one sports writer tweeted? Something like "how much 'Bama is boring to watch on the big games when CNS has time to prepare for them"...

One of the USA Today writers tweeted, "Can someone ask Jerry Jones to change the video screen to the Auburn vs Clemson game?" Bad choice of teams, sure. Funny, none-the-less.

Fall quarter conditioning.
