The problem with this law is the inclusion of violent crimes with victims. I doubt many would complain that personal use drug possession or vagrancy was a crime included in this type of thing. But second-degree murder?

Thing is, I agree that cash bail is way too often basically a destructor of people's lives. Getting arrested should not mean losing your job, house, etc just because you can't come up with bail in most of the cases I have seen it do so. This happens in cases where the person never gets convicted and sometimes even when charges are later dropped. But damn if they really picked the absolute wrong crimes to include.
