🏈 Care to guess? Out of the 130 D1 teams in football, only one hasn't had a player enter the transfer portal.

Brian Chaffin, OL, was a grad transfer from Stanford to Rice this year.
He announced he was leaving on NSD in February to join a coach who left Stanford for a position at Rice. I've yet to see anything saying he was officially in the transfer portal: only articles saying he said he was transferring.

I may be wrong here but I'm thinking that's their line of demarcation. He transferred, but didn't enter to portal. Dunno. 🤷‍♂️

This whole transfer portal idea is gonna hurt in a few years. Programs are going to be in the hole with scholarships and have no chance of getting back to 85.

More of an inconvenience. But I'm also thinking that most go through the transfer portal after the season and a few during it. So the schools are obligated to the end of the term. Same time we get the scholarship back.

It is possible that a perfect storm hits at some time in the future and a blue blood program loses 5-6 A list players either just before or just after season starts. Imagine if a school ranked in the top 15 suddenly lost a WR, RB, QB and a couple of starting LB'ers to the transfer portal. Now close yours eyes and imagine that school is... A BIG 10 school. The media would immediately turn rabid
