Why is it that if I type a long reply, I have to log back in because it times me out? Is that just me or does this happen to everyone? What is the time limit before you are automatically timed out.... This is irritating as *&(%.....

I've actually began a replay, went to a different tab and forgot about it, and then came back hours later and finished by thought so yeah this shouldnt be happening to you.

A few have since the move from vB3 to vB4. (how it's set up with our upgrade—coming soon—to the next platform? Let's see if I remember to make a note of it before it's brought to my attention! :bluebiggrin: )

That said, it could be one of two things—but what '66 said eliminates the issue.

Cookie settings on the user end create this issue if you don't have the remember me box checked.

On our end, the limit is set at 15 minutes. In other words, if you're inactive on the site for 15 minutes you'll get timed out. There are a few cookies that VB sets, i.e., forum_view, lastvisit, lastactivity, etc. (Crazy thing is, at least to me, is the differences people will run into with different browsers—Chrome tends to time out before FF.)
