šŸˆ Can Anyone Here Explain The Phenomena That Is CNS Refusing To Use Timeouts ?

Well the reporters at half time of the '12 SECCG, (and the broadcasters who were stunned as well) asked him why he did that, and he admitted that he made a mistake, and that it cost Bama points. Imagine that. CNS is human, and could actually improve at some things.

I haven't watched the game yet, been doing chores around the house so not sure what they said, what Saban said, etc. Just starting to watch it now, but just got to the 7-7 score.

I probably should not be voicing any ideas that could drown the intellectually challenged here in the football forum. Apologies.

I'm your huckleberry.

The success of every oppressive regime throughout history has been predicated upon the majority having an attitude like yours. Congrats on being one of the stumbling blocks in mankinds quest for ascension.

To what is mankind ascending?

No I'm not. Do you ever comprehend much of what you read ?

The **** are you talking about ? haha

I did no such thing. I pointed out that your narrow minded follow the leader/never question authority attitude is what has allowed many of the unfortunate chapters in mankinds history to take place.

This has nothing to do with football. Nothing. I was merely making a comment about how dangerous an attitude like yours has been throughout time. Unfortunately you whiffed on the message. I'm probably more out of line here than you are though. I probably should not be voicing any ideas that could drown the intellectually challenged here in the football forum. Apologies.

This thread topic is about CNS and his decision to use/not use timeouts during an Alabama football game. Your comment:

...brings the success of oppressive regimes into the discussion. What oppressive regimes are you referring to? Are any of them involved in football? Please educate us because your reference and the topic appear to be in different solar systems.

What was the game situation in the SEC Championship game?........

Start video at 1:18:40 mark. Notice Bama has three timeouts. I dare anyone that says CNS does not have a clock management issue to watch. I double-dog-dare ya - No, ...... I TRIPLE-DOG-DARE YA !

There have been so many games where he has taken all 3 timeouts to the locker room it has to be a record of some sort.

Start here at 1:18:40

Ok....... He admitted to it being a mistake on his part in that situation. This example we're past midfield.....

Last night different situation...... Had Coker connected on that first throw, im willing to bet we use a time out. But look at the field position we were in as opposed to say the 2012 SEC Champ. Game. Why use your timeouts and then you risk thte chance to give them the ball back.......and they got the ball to start the second half. If you think he has clock management problems then im guessing 2014 @ LSU, 2012 @ LSU, 2007 Arkansas didn't happen.

I don't know, @T&B It seems like it may be nitpicking a bit one this drive.

Big gain by TJ on the first play puts the team in field goal range. We're dealing with a NFL mentality seeing a field goal putting three on the board However, if you look at that 1:15 of possession time the offense ran eight plays. No negative plays. One incomplete pass. (UGA timeout followed that.) One run of three yards. The rest were good size gains ... hell, AJ was what, four or five yards away from the goal line when the time out was called?

The clock was stopped a few times in that last minute. A few first downs, a UGA timeout, etc.

I can see a coach changing his mind back and forth during a flurry like that.

You just wake up from nappy time ? Hey man, whataya say we let it go ? We are clearly failing to communicate effectively with one another.

I'm good if you're good. In the future, I recommend responding to the comment and not attacking the individual. We can debate our thoughts/beliefs/positions but the game changes when a person is the target.

It is an overly conservative way of thinking. We had three time outs with almost two minutes left in the half and basically sit on it. This is very common with him. I'm not a fan of it. Yeah, we won the game but when you've got the superior team and talent you shouldn't be afraid to push the ball down field, especially with three timeouts.

Risk and reward. At that point, IMO, there were more risks than reward.

It's about coaching style. He takes a minimizing risk attitude toward offense. Other offensive minded coaches/coordinators would view that same situation as "We've got 1:50 left in the half and three time outs. Let's try to score." It's just not his style and that's okay. I just don't necessarily agree with it. Especially seeing how superior we were in talent.
