🏈 Bye, Bateman

Agreed. I don't know what his academic status is, but I hope this will be a situation much like Alec going to UNT last year. Stay through the play offs and then head to your new destination.

Either way, best of luck to Cooper and where ever he ends up.

He graduated in May, 2016 so as a grad student, he can transfer and play immediately. NOT sure of the "a grad program not available at the current school" clause, but guess he can be changing the grad program from what he is pursuing at UA to another program at the new school?

Has anyone ever gotten a doctorate while still playing by any chance? Or started a program that is while atill under scholarahip.

I'm grateful for the time he has put in with the team. He waited his time and did not make it all about him. Even after being passed up for two freshmen he still stuck it out through the season and did what he could to contribute to the team's success this year. It sucks that it didn't work out for him at BAMA as far as being QB1 goes but I wish him all the best in his future endeavors. I'll cheer for him wherever he goes. Roll Tide, Coop!

It was much more entertaining to watch people go off without facts being mixed in to this thread.

It's ironic seeing Alec's name in this thread ... I was hoping someone would put the two together considering their situations are virtually identical.

I know that he came here with Bradly Bozeman on a lot of hunting and fishing trip. Would he go to one of the school from Utah? I hope him the best. But Bama has I know the last two years has done great with a transfer player.

Bateman gone be a Ute...

Good for him, I'm happy for him. Hope he's the starter.

I concur, I always thought that Kiffin, limited Bateman in his start against Ole Missy and caused the poor performance. Everyone thought his running ability would be hard for oMu to deal with, but he really never had any runs called and seems to be just a dropback qb. But just my opinion. further believe that he nor the coaches could ever get passed the OmU game loss

Best to you Mr Bateman, thanks for the contribution you made to the team and three SEC Championships and the 2015 NC.
