Because they beat a highly ranked Oregon team, and the defending National Champs, and a good West Virginia team. (some sarcasm in there).

But this is what I have heard from some media sorts. They got more credit for beating Florida/ Tennessee than Bama did.

Well, thank goodness we play them because if we were talking about someone like Boise St., I would still be scratching my head over that statement.

LSU didn't look all that great against UT early either but they did beat them at Neyland. Both teams looked very good against Florida but we handed LSU a decimated Florida team that we beat handily in the Swamp.

That's my only issue with the rankings. They were playing a UF team minus Brantley—thanks to Bama—and a UF team with a very banged up back-up in Driskell—thanks to Bama.
