In the thread about the coaching changes at Bama I had a question I was trying to find the answer for and couldn't...until today. You remember people talking about the reason he'd gone up North was to skirt around the non-compete clause with Arkansas? Here were my thoughts ...

The one question/thought I've entertained is how can the non-compete be in effect if he's released from Arkansas? As soon as you're let go, that goes, right?
This is from mlive.com
No, Dan Enos didn't go to Michigan to skirt an SEC no-compete clause

Over the weekend, thanks to Tom Murphy of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, MLive obtained a copy of Enos' employment contract at Arkansas, the one he originally signed on Jan. 22, 2015, and does in fact include a no-compete clause with other SEC schools.
"You covenant and agree not to accept employment in any coaching capacity, except for a head coach position, with any other SEC institution, including any East or West Division institution, prior to the expiration date of the Term and any mutually agreed up on extensions of the Term."
...
There was also this: "In the event the University terminates your employment for its convenience, the covenant not to compete shall not apply."
An Arkansas spokesman on Monday confirmed to MLive that Enos was indeed terminated for convenience.
In the end it's just like I thought...a Michigan beat writer was pissed off because Enos left Central Michigan and started a rumor that just wasn't true.
