Ty's shown he's got a "gun" in practices. STRONG arm and accurate as hell. It's crazy thinking who he's following but here I am again hearing about his potential.

Early-enrollee quarterback Ty Simpson admitted that facing Alabama linebacker Will Anderson, a unanimous All-American, in practice was scary but a challenge he was looking forward to.

A 5-star recruit that signed with the Crimson Tide on Wednesday and joined the team’s College Football Playoff practices last week, Simpson joked before he enrolled at UA that he was going to approach Anderson and ask not to be hit that hard in his first collegiate practices.

ā€œBefore he could even come to me, because I had seen it already, I had went up to him and I told him, ā€˜You don’t gotta worry about me hitting you right now, but just know in the springtime, you’re gonna see me all the time,ā€™ā€ Anderson said. ā€œā€˜I’m gonna always be in your face. But you ain’t gotta worry about me right now.’ So I actually came up to him.ā€

Wonder what Milroe thinks about all of this? It’s such a slippery slope now with the transfer portal and NIL but teams rarely keep 3 studs at QB for very long. I would say four but Tyson’s probably not of their caliber … at least in the eyes of the outsiders … and he’s probably here for the duration regardless. Though Nix should remind me very little is as it used to be when it comes to college football.

I don't see Milroe running from a challenge. He's a physical specimen with a strong arm and speed to burn. With more playing time and acclamation with the offense, I would not be surprised to see him starting after Bryce leaves next year. Tyson is the odd man out after being in this system for several years and not winning the starting job.

One play away from starting as we saw with Tua on several occasions. And I think Milroe is so much better than Tyson. Heck, Tyson couldn't even make a pass to the flat & my confidence meter flatlined with him when he fumbled the snap in the Iron Bowl.

Milroe has got to know he is the #2 guy.

I think it did so with Saban as well. He certainly didn’t give Tyson another chance in that game.

Yep … and the difference with Tyson and Jones is we’re not hearing about his play in practice like we were with Mac.

I believe the UA boog game was the second time Tyson mishandled the snap.
@Brandon Van de Graaff and @TerryP have mentioned this numerous times on here, but bears being said one more time.

Saban more/less uses an NFL model for practice in a lot of what he does. One of those situations is the fact that kickers work with kickers. Tyson is #2 QB and (almost) all of his time at practice is spent taking meaningful snaps running the offense behind Bryce.

Meanwhile Will is making kicks and perfecting his timing with the long snapper and whomever from the kicking team holding the ball for him in practice. Appears to be Burnip, the punter. After the fumbled snap in the Barn game that is who has been holding ever since.

Not 100% sure, but I think the main reason to have a QB hold is to be able to throw out of the formation if they need to fake a kick.

If you think back to the kick 6. We had a punter holding and he made a feeble ass attempt to tackle Davis on the runback. That season Vinnie Sunseri was the holder up until he tore his ACL. I like to think that if Vinnie is healthy....."The Greatest Play" in awbarn history never takes place.

I'm a little less pissed at Tyson........had we lost, I might have been a little less forgiving.

I think there's a chance Milroe bolts but I don't think it's an immediate concern. I think he knows his talent is going to allow him to see the field likey next year in some capacity. Then, he'll have a chance to show what he can do against Simpson the next year.

I understand we would want a guy that could throw back there, but I would be very interested to know how many fake field goals Saban has ran at Alabama.

In an SEC championship game Saturday that will have even deeper meaning to Alabama’s season than its win over Auburn, who serves as holder between Tyson and Burnip will be the decision of Reichard.

ā€œFrom a holder standpoint, I’m going to listen to the kicker,ā€ Nick Saban said Thursday. ā€œIt’s who he’s most comfortable with, and who he has confidence in, in terms of getting the ball down. That decision will be made based on what our kicker thinks, what Will thinks.ā€

Reichard, a junior, has converted 14 of his 18 field-goal attempts this season. Prior to going 2-for-2 on his attempts Saturday, Reichard had missed three of his previous six after starting the season 9-of-10.

Burnip had served as the backup holder, placing the ball for backup kicker Jack Martin in pregame warmups this season
