Alabama linebacker Tim Williams has a goal in mind, one in which would make a former Crimson Tide great very proud.

Williams provided a surge for the Tide on defense last season.

His efforts started during Alabama’s week four contest against Louisiana-Monroe, where the 6-foot-4, 230-pounder totaled 1.5 tackles for loss and a half sack in its 34-0 win.

Hey, we all gotta have goals in life. Nothing wrong with setting a high bar. I commend his aspirations. We need leadership like this as he is going to work very hard to attain this goal, and he will have a precense like Reggie Ragland and be a senior leader for this team. His focus will be helpful.

Too much other talent on the field for him to do it. He is a beast off the snap though. Every time I saw them put him in I said, uh-oh, hey QB, you goin' down. Will be interesting to see if they make him a every down player.

The Steve Wilson data is incorrect. He had 39 TFL in 2002, which is the DIII TFL record.

But Russ Watson, Worcester St(2000) has the season sacks record at 24, which ties him with Suggs. But Watson did it in 9 games, which is pretty impressive.

i'd love to see him do it. it can only mean good things if he does.

do i think he will? i have to be honest and say no, i don't think he will. but i will love watching him try.

Derrick Thomas was one of those once-in-a-lifetime players you see that just has something special that no one else does. he did things that shouldn't have been possible for a person of his size. his size and athletic ability combination were unheard of in that day and time.

but again, i will love watching Tim attempt it. it should be fun to watch.
