šŸˆ Bobby Johnson Resigns

I hope everything is okay with Bobby on a personal level. He is a good guy and a great coach. He just had little to work with at Vanderbilt. His name popped up briefly for the Michigan job after Lloyd Carr retired in 2007. Had he gone to Michigan in 2008 instead of RR, they would be doing a hell of a lot better than 3-9 and 5-7.

The most overrated coach in the entire conference (by SEC fans, not the media) is finally gone. I have nothing against the guy, but damn am I glad that I won't have to hear about how great he he'd be at a bigger program anymore.

Living in Nashville, I've listened to dozens of interviews with Bobby Johnson and was introduced to him once. He seemed to me to be one of the most respectable gentlemen I've ever met. BigAl is right, he did have a very tough job, but I think he was a great fit at Vandy. I agree with prior posts, I hope this retirement isn't a result of any serious family or health-related situation. Johnson was always easy to root for.

He was in a definite no win situation there at Vandy. I know that he had a pretty good record while he was there at Furman. Hw was a good guy but he was definitely in a gunfight with a toothpick here in the SEC.
