šŸˆ Blount coach Kelvin Sigler joining Nick Saban's staff at Alabama

MOBILE, Alabama - Blount football coach Kelvin Sigler will join Nick Saban's staff at the University of Alabama, having resigned as the Leopards' football coach today.

Sigler confirmed that he informed Blount officials of the move today, although it's unclear exactly what role the former Alabama player will have on the Crimson Tide's coaching staff.

"I'm grateful to everyone at Blount High School for the opportunity," Sigler said. "I loved the kids, and it was a great honor to be the head coach at Blount High."

Sigler declined to answer questions about his move to Alabama, citing Saban's long-standing policy of barring assistant coaches from speaking to the media.

Kelvin will make a good addition to the staff at UA. Funny thing is that in high school, the Tide sent down some folks to evaluate Kelvin. It was then that they discovered Copeland. Shaw's coach (T. Curtis) had John sitting on the bench, which John reminds him of quite often, lol. Ask any coach in the city of Mobile, who the best football player they ever saw hit the field, and 90% of them will say Kelvin. This guy knows football, and he deinitely knows how to coach someone to bring the pain. He's one of those "make his ass quit" kinda coaches, if you know what I mean. At the very least, it should keep Demayune Craig in check (in Mobile, at least).

Kelvin won't be on the road recruiting. He'll be able to when kids are on campus, and with the Mobile area kids it can't do anything but help!

What position he moves in to? I don't know. With his head coaching experience he could fit in as a GA under any of the position coaches.

It seems like we had one of our guys in the "administration" part of the job just move on to a better position—can't recall who, what, or where.
