🏈 Blast from the past

A post I pulled up from the past on a certain Auburn forum. Enjoy.

Mal Moore standing on a street corner in Miami waving $40M at a coach who just posted back-to-back losing seasons and being put on hold while the guy thinks about it. That's a clear snapshot of where Alabama is at this moment in time. Crystal clear.

If he stays in Miami, he's damaged his reputation there. If he comes to UA, he's made himself out to be a lying mercenary.

And even if he does come, the expectations from Tahd fans will ruin his tenure. Here is a list of expected accomplishments over the next five seasons (same list being decried as "too low") posted by one Bama fan:

-- that he has at least once back to back 10 win seasons,

-- that he wins the SEC West at least twice,

-- wins the SEC championship game at least once

-- that we play in the BCS championship game at least once.

-- that we lose no more than four games in any year over the next five.

-- that we win at least three of the next five from Auburn and Tennessee.

Nah, that's not unrealistic. It hasn't been done at Alabama since the 1970s, but why not? As one Bama hack grouched: "We're not paying him $40M for THAT kind of performance"

No matter how this turns out, it's a disaster for Bama. We're talking armageddonesque. Which is okay by me.

I do believe the barner has a future in predicting it.

Btw, yesterday while listening to sports talk radio shows on the commute to & from work, a couple of barners called in on separate occasions (two different shows) and predicted that auburn would be playing for the National Championship in two years.
