More than a few Alabama fans held their breath Saturday afternoon when Blake Sims grabbed his right shoulder and remained on the ground after a third quarter 24-yard scramble.

All was well, though, as Sims went into the locker room and then came back out on the field to lead another drive in the fourth quarter.

With Alabama on a bye week, UA coach Nick Saban said Sims is fine to practice this week.

"He'll probably be a couple day where we take it easy," Saban said.

Saban compared Sims' injury to the one AJ McCarron dealt with in 2013.

"...we took a few days where (McCarron) practiced but didn't throw much then started putting him on a pitch count and started bringing him back," Saban said. "But having a bye week is probably a good thing from that perspective."

Outside of a sack and his fumble, Sims rushed six times for 53 yards against Florida. On the season, Sims has 114 yards rushing and two touchdowns. He's completed 72 percent of his passes for 1,091 yards and eight touchdowns with two interceptions.

Sims injured the shoulder during a scramble on second-and-10 in the third quarter with Alabama leading 28-21.

"I bruised my AC joint," Sims said following the game. "...tried to get the first down and just a little rinky dink injury.

"Its very fine. It's just a little bruise. (I'll) get with the training staff and try to get better and let the team know I'm good, and then I'll come out against Ole Miss and try to win the game."

The injury did teach him a lesson, though.

"Yes, (I'll slide)," he said. "You will see more slides."
