I think that Sims is still hurting from the shoulder injury that he sustained in the FL game. That's part of the problem.

Our offensive inefficiency is deeper than the guy lining up behind the center. Losing Drake hurt more than I ever thought it would, we can no longer line him up opposite Cooper and have a one on one match-up with a deep (explosive) play. Also, the O-line is not run blocking very well and we all know you have to be able to run the ball with consistency (even in the era of throw the ball all over). I will say that Blake did not look as comfortable in the last two games as he did against Florida and when he rolls out of the pocket, his accuracy seems to have dropped. All of this is just my opinion of course and if Blake looks bad Saturday we may very well see a change. I have to believe that Nick and Lane are playing whom they feel is the better option since I don't see either of them sitting around thinking up ways to loose and look bad.

I agree some. If there's any part of Sims that's not helping a lot, it's his arm. He's been running good and escaping the collapsing pockets well. The O-line is a bigger concern. He needs a couple seconds to view what's opening up. He's not making bad decisions that often.

Have you guys gone back and looked at how many times we've thrown the ball downfield more than 15 yards past line of scrimmage since the FL game? Very few throws. Very few. Surprising when compared to the first 4 games. And I'm not ready to say Arky and Ole Miss have secondaries full of All Americans...

Thank goodness the A&M defense sucks. Lol We can use this game as a measuring stick since we're at home and we know they're D sucks.

Don't know HIS credentials @TheChief! Really don't care either. That wasn't the point of the thread. The point was to show that other people see that the blame for any hiccups on offense can't fall on Blake. He pointed out some of his miscues but he also pointed out injuries, inconsistent line play, etc. Look! You and I are going to agree so why attack?
I put my heart and soul into the program more than you'll ever know or even understand. I'm going to be optimistic. I carried this same approach while I was coaching HS ball for 15 years. Even when Mike Dubose was bumbling his way thru, I tried to stay positive thinking the guys would win in spite of the horrible coaching they were receiving! Same with Franchione and Shula. It isn't seeing things with Crimson glasses. I'll call a spade a spade in a heartbeat. I was on that first team that went to the Barn in 89, ranked #2 in the nation and 10-0. I was on that 90 team that stumbled out of the gate at 0-3 Coach Stallings first year. We ran into a buzzsaw at the Barn and key injuries those first three weeks of 90 didn't help matters. I would guess you may have been leading the charge to fire Coach Stallings! His fault huh?
Maybe you were taken in by all of the media hype and build up that was put on for Coker that named him the starter before he ever set foot on campus. Don't worry, you weren't alone. I watched those spring games and saw Blake look horrible and I wondered about how good Coker was going to be. I always said to myself, we have a pretty stout defense that he is running against and he has about 10 of a possible 300 pages of the playbook at his disposal. He can't be this bad, can he? Answer is, he isn't. Blake gives us the best shot at winning, because if he didn't, CNS wouldn't let his ass out on that field.
