I may be one of the only one on here. But I go with the one that the coaches want in the game. So I do know a few here didn't want #6 on the field, but how your feeling now on him. One more thing here I'm glad that I did get to see #75 Bradley Boseman play for the team he love.
I trusted the coaches, but I was sceptical. I came to the conclusion that Coker was going to take a while to develope and, consequently, they were "settling" on Sims. I never dreamed he would do as well as he has.
I thought that Sims starts 2 o 3 games, struggles; Then Coker comes in and we look to next year for a run at the Ring. Boy, was I wrong. Sims has become my all time favorite Bama player. I have been following Bama football since Bobby Jackson was the quarterback.
I think most would agree that, we never saw this coming after his spring games that he had had at the QB position. Even with a limited playbook during the spring game, I saw nothing that would lead me to believe that he would play the position so well. I assumed that he would start the first 2-3 games and alternate every 3-4 series with Coker until he got his feet wet. I figured as well that Coker would be under center for good by the UF game.
It's funny about Sims, is that when he does start to making bad plays , and Coker gets up to warm up. Sims start playing better, Case and point the barner game. I for one just knew Coker was coming into that game.
I thought after the A day game we were hurting for a QB and if Sims was our best we would have a long season. I remember hoping that Coker could learn enough of the playbook to take over. Boy was I ever wrong.
The thing that I never understood about people judging him on spring games was that AJ had some pretty lousy spring games too, especially the 2013 one. The spring game concept itself takes away a big part of his style (he cant run because he cant get hit) and he was obviously pressing and forcing himself to stay in the pocket.
I guess so many of us had doubts about Blake and really every other QB on our roster, because AJ had literally played every meaningful snap for virtually 3 years.
