🏈 Blackwell purposefully steps on Mark Barron's hand

This stuff happens with every team. A USCe player tried to twist Dyer's ankle.

I played high school ball, recruited, etc and had, among other things, a hand fractured, fingers broken/dislocated and my nose broken. As for trash talking, can't repeat in mixed company.

I'm not one for confrontation, and I certainly enjoy your posts and respect your opinion, but I'm gonna have to disagree. While I do think that this sort of stuff goes on ALOT more than the TV's show, I think it takes a certain mental capacity to intentionally try and hurt someone. I just don't think most players would try to do something that would injure another player. And for that matter, I think most coaches (if they saw it) would take a player out a game if they saw something like this and felt like it was intentional. I certainly don't think Saban would stand for it for even one second.

It's just not normal thinking, and believe me, I'm as competitive as anyone out there.

I'm not at all saying everyone does it, but every team has a guy or two that is either too nasty or gets carried away. I'm not at all excusing it and when crap like that happened to me it took all I had not to retaliate--I did once and still feel terrible for it. It isn't OL but every team has a guy or two that will get carried away occasionally. Darren Bates for us, Hightower kicked a guy in the Vandy game, I think? Honey Badger sucker punching Dre.

I agree it is appalling and shouldn't happen--please don't think I'm excusing it, I'm just saying it happens.

I watched the game last night and looked specifically for this incident. It happened in the 4th quarter with them trailing 15-0. I'm not condoning it, but I believe he was so frustrated by the flow and outcome of the game, he was looking for a way out. He was getting his ass whipped all night!
