Birmingham, AL (WIAT) Cornelius Bennett played alongside Derrick Thomas for 2 years at the University of Alabama, and like many others can’t quite seem to understand why Thomas is yet to be elected into the College Football Hall of fame.

ā€œYou know, every thing is so political these days, I guess I’ve got a personal boycott going forwardā€Bennett said, ā€œYou have to kind of play that game, a beat them at their own game kind of thing ā€

Inducted into the CFB Hall of Fame back in 2005, the 5-time Pro Bowl linebacker sees no other possible explanation other than politics for his former teammate not being posthumously elected into the hall by the National Football Foundation voters.

ā€œWhat he accomplished in college football you know his sack record from his senior year is still out there you know consensus All-American. What he did professionally is just unparalleled so there’s no doubt that he should be in the college football hall of fameā€.

I think hes trying to say having a big player from the south inducted when it comes to ATL I guess tho I would imagine a big star from Georgia or Georgia Tech would be a bigger draw.

Why do you save someone for Atlanta...that's ignorant thinking. Give the man his props instead of making a statement and pissing people off.

If they are doing this to save him for Atlanta, then I will NEVER step foot in the building regardless of who's in it. That's just ignorant.

It should have stayed in South Bend.
