šŸˆ Big Ten lands 7-year media rights agreement w/Fox, CBS, NBC, Peacock & FS1

CBS contract with the SEC does not include the first two weeks of the season. For several years CBS has leased SEC games from ESPN for those weeks. Interesting that they did not do that this year. Appears they are distancing themselves from the SEC.

CBS dropped out of the bidding process for the SEC because it was too expensive. Then this. You just can’t make this up.

That was my thinking as well. I was under the impression they were focusing on basketball and golf. Hurts my feelings they did this, because SEC on CBS is simply my favorite thing. The intro music, the best game in the best conference, mid-afternoon kickoff that leads to the last bit of the game under the lights, just a big game atmosphere when you're on CBS to me. I also like the commentators as I have mentioned many times before.

The only thing I can think of is they're splitting the money with Fox, NBC, Peacock and FS1 (even though two of those four are essentially the same - Fox+FS1, NBC+Peacock). Anyway you look at it, it's a big jump from their $55 million for the SEC.
