šŸ“” Big Ten commissioner: Nebraska can't remain Big Ten member if it plays football this fall

I agree with all that! I'm very familiar with the Big Red fan base and it's legit. But you're assuming games are going to be played... I just don't see it.

As stated multiple times, I don't see campuses staying open for long. The #'s will increase due to all of the reasons any virus on a college campus would increase (dorms, shared classrooms, shared buildings, off campus roommates, pool parties, COVID parties :ROFLMAO:) and these Presidents are going to be under immense pressure to wiggle off the hook... After, of course, tuition checks have been signed for the semester.

Ha, I agree with it after all of those upfront costs are paid. Am my comments hinge on the fact that there will be games. There would be a contingency I'm sure that any news release would need to be made if only there is a season, if the Big 12 let Nebraska into their conference for the season, or perhaps for good if the Big Ten means what it says.

I still don’t understand how she can be sworn in as ā€œIndian Americanā€ and then be hyped as the first Black or African American 4 years later! Is she another Elizabeth Warren?
Anyways, just a little humor during these crazy days!!

You risk more financially by not playing. Nebraska sells out every game, so their fans would support, Lincoln, much like Tuscaloosa, is built for football and it would help them more than hurt. Make what you can to offset coaching and scholarship costs.

I don't think any school will allow 100% attendance this year. It will be more like 20-30%. It's better than nothing, but it won't put them in the black.

Anyone seen any numbers on testing costs (with sports and without sports)?

If you're allowing student athletes to practice and use the facilities, don't you still have to test the same amount? Wisconsin AD Barry Alvarez on record with a 20 hour a week schedule for football players.

Somehow practice is still ok? How does this make any sense? How is the NFL allowed to play?

About 2-3 hours ago, Ryan Day of OSU was quoted as saying they were ā€œexploring options to play this Fall even though the conference announced otherwise.ā€
About 10 minutes ago, OSU AD Gene Smith squashes that bug!!!

True, particularly if a good portion of the attendees are band and students.

I've been thinking about this. We know that attendance will be limited at BDS. IMO, I think they should let the students (100%) and at least part of the band attend each game. Spread them out over the entire stadium. Give them assigned seats so that social distancing is adhered to. If there's any room left, spread the tickets out over season ticket holders. It would be a shame if students aren't allowed to cheer their team. Not allowing them in will only cause them to gather in large groups in small spaces to watch.
