The Crimson Tide had the Nos. 1, 3 and 5 finishers in the Heisman voting. They played one game decided by fewer than 14 points. They bested an SEC-only schedule by an average of 30.2 points per game. Their defense struggled early but allowed only 15 points per game after mid-October. This was the best Nick Saban team ever and quite possibly the best of the 21st century.

Best team ... from the best coach ... with the best dynasty of the 21st century (at the very least)? Sounds like the best team of the CFP era

I always felt like the 2011 and the 2016 team that lost to Clemson were the best teams he had. Hard to bet against the 2011 defense but I viewed as his best defense the 2016 team. They held up strong until they had to play 100 plays in that game. The 2016 defense scored a lot of points then with multiple special teams touchdowns as well.

Sentence structure may have been poorly done but I was not saying 2011 team lost to Clemson. The 2016 lost to Clemson in the game that was in 2017. CNS's best team w/o a NC.

Think he broke his leg in the Arkansas game the week after we played the Viles. He was a weapon in the return game and a ball hawk back at safety!

Saban had some good ones! Johnson that started as a walk on RB under Shula, Barron delivered the lumber, Landon Collins, Minkah and Eddie were absolute ball hawks.

Yeah I recall Eddies injury was earlier in the year. The championship trophy would have come back to T-Town if Scarborough does not go down in that game.

If memory serves me correctly, Shaun Dion Hamilton, #20 ILB, went down in the SECCG to a knee injury.
That defense scored a shit ton of points on their own!!
