As of now my FAVORITE 1 loss team is the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

Oklahoma and Stanford are close seconds.

Although it will be interesting to see who will end up in the Big 12 Championship. I believe Oklahoma St is in control of the south right now.. But a late match up with Oklahoma will probably change that.

Nebraska with a phenom freshman QB in Martinez, and then Roy Helu and Burkhead...throw in Bo Pelini and you have a championship caliber team, for the next couple years possibly.

I'd love to see Alabama- Nebraska in the national championship next year. Possibly even meet them in a good bowl game this year, to set up for it.

We all know how good Stanford is. They could probably beat Oregon 1 out of 3 games.

***EDIT***

I think somewhere within Alabama's loss to LSU, Oklahoma losing to Texas A&M must have slipped past me. Pardon me.

I agree that LSU with their resume should be ranked the highest, and Stanford could possibly be the best team...

But if any 1 loss team was to slip past TCU or Boise, that wasn't a 1 loss Auburn who lost to Alabama, would probably be Nebraska.

It's a shame that it was clear that a 1 loss Bama would sneak into the national, and most likely for Nebraska to sneak into the title game, when a 1 loss Auburn and a 1 loss Oklahoma St would probably have a much smaller chance, even though they're in the same conference.

Wisconsin would easily be left out also.

A lot of it depends on the media. TCU is coming off a big win and has a ton of goodwill built up right now. Will the media still feel the same way in 4 weeks? Right now, I don't think any one loss team would finish ahead of TCU, even a one lose SEC cahmp (AU or LSU).

Bama was different because we were the defending champs and were the overwhelming favorite in the earl part of the year. We were a media darling this year.
