Now that Uncle ( I don't want that to sound racist I'm just speaking of his age) Grandpa Ben is starting his 32 year at Bama will we see him get his stuff together and produce on a regular basis? This guy came in as the consensus #1 LB in the country, 5 *...blah blah blah. Any word on how is doing in practice?

If early reports are any indication, Ben has had the "light come on" and he has been a coach on the field. He is running with the one's right now. Maybe he was just a slow learner and now, seeing Mack Wilson (whom he came in with) now entering his 2nd season in the NFL that has jump started his drive to compete.

He hasn't had good luck on the injury front his entire time in Tuscaloosa. Nothing has been season ending, so to speak, but things akin to a strained pectoral prevents progression. He's had a rough time of it, in my opinion, and received a lot of flak undeserved.

I believe Ben has a been a solid citizen while at Bama and I believe Nick will give the kid a chance to play if he is the best we have at that slot. Based on what I have read on other sites Ben is in the mix to get playing time.

Lone Watie told me a couple years back that Ben looked like his father but played like his mother. We'll see.

Lone Watie: All I have is a piece of hard rock candy. But it's not for eatin'. It's just for lookin' through.

Then again maybe Tyler hurt his neck when he fell over those beer cans? Aight
