aaaaaand.....whyyyyyyyy?

and i'm seriously asking this.

what possible motivation could this have or serve for the team? are they going just to go? if so, that's the most asinine reason, in my opinion.

everyone going has to have a valid passport. who's going to pay for those? the players themselves? surely the school isn't allowed to pay for them.

so many issues, so many questions, but a real educational opp for these kids.
I have flown to Europe several times... the 1st time in coach... I cannot imagine most of these guys at the end of the trip... so uncomfortable unless they charter a special plane with many larger sized seats. Should have some spirited exchanges after several hours on the plane

Is he paying for the trip for all his players?
A donor paid for that trip and was going to for the future trips as well.

How is that not a permissible benefit? Hey, if you come to our school you get a paid for vacation. I believe this has been discussed, but just didn't want to do the leg work and go look it all up again.
I want to say it was looked at as an educational trip and it was open to all student athletes, not just football. They had players stay after the trip ended to continue studying as I recall.
