We'll see. Here's a quote from his coach at EMCC, to TI this morning, following Jaren signing:

East Mississippi CC head coach Buddy Stephens, who has led his program to two national titles in the past four years, is extremely high on Reed's abilities.


"He's going to bring some physicality to Alabama's interior d-line," Stephens tells TI. "Once he goes through the Fourth Quarter program they do over there and they get him in really good shape, he's going to be a dominant player. He's got great hands, very quick with his hands. He's powerful. He disrupts things. I'm looking for a lot of good things from Jarran at Alabama."

I was referring to Pettway having 11.5 sacks. In all seriousness, if Saban thinks all is well, I'm good with it. He knows more about the situation than I do.

I'm sure there is going to be a faction voicing their displeasure about him re-signing. If I wanted to get into a discussion with them, about how they feel, I'd have to ask if they were part of the crowd making continuing remarks about Nick Marshall and his escapades with the law. It's the same with those who support the move. What were they saying about Marshall, etc.?

On another note, notice in the first sentence here, "re-sign." He will count against the total, but won't against initials.

Also noticed FSU, Ole Piss, Tenn and a couple others had visits and offers to him within the last couple months. Seemed he would be back with a FBS school this year reagardless. Just hoping he straightened up which I'm sure he did is he was allowed back. The D Line is starting to look pretty good for next year so far.

The 6-foot-4, 310-pound Reed is anticipated to play in the middle of Alabama's defensive line.

He was highly sought after this fall, and would have almost certainly ended up at Ole Miss if Saban didn't accept him back. It might have caused Reed to go to Ole Miss as well...
