Nick Gentry, the "grinder" DT for Bama, stayed on to lead them last year to a 5-6 record. Hopefully, he continues to build this year and further develops his coaching skills.

Dude is TOXIC! I’ve told the story before, but I’ll rewind for any newbies. I interviewed for a job under him at Eufaula HS just before I graduated at UA. Propst had been at Ashville HS a year or two earlier and had gotten in some trouble there. It seems he and some of his assistants had scuba gear and were sneaking into golf courses at night and hitting the water hazards locating golf balls, then washing them and selling for their own profit.
Back to Eufaula, I interviewed with him and I am told that I will be the new baseball coach and QB coach for him. Problem was, the school I would be teaching at was the elementary and the principal DID NOT want a coach, so I didn’t get the job. Fast forward a couple of years and Alma Bryant opens and hires him. This around the time, his first wife is involved in a terrible car accident and the secret family comes into being when he goes to Hoover. Grade changing scandal, bullying teachers for grades, winning titles and it’s his infidelity away from the field that got him canned. Goes to GA, has some success, head butts a player in the sideline, player was wearing a helmet, Propst wasn’t. Got suspended. Reportedly gave out either prescription pain killers or OTC brands to a player or two on the sidelines. Pops up at another school and immediately starts begging for $$$$$$$ so he can get better players, including housing and jobs for players’ families.
I’m gonna say 5/6 games before some shit hits the fan there in Gadsden.
