šŸˆ Bcs standings are coming. So is the outrage.

Bama 5th!

Florida (1). Difference from the USA Today coaches poll: plus-five spots. The microchips are impressed by the four Southeastern Conference victories – well, at least by three of them. Beating Kentucky probably doesn't do much for the strength of schedule.

Notre Dame (2). Difference from the USA Today coaches poll: plus-five spots. The Fighting Irish benefit from having played four major-conference opponents – if indeed the Big Ten counts as a major conference in 2012. And they could conceivably move up to the computer top spot with a victory over highly ranked Stanford on Saturday.
Steve Spurrier's Gamecocks head to LSU this week.

South Carolina (3). Difference from the USA Today coaches poll: none. The Gamecocks could leapfrog the Irish and the Gators with a computer-pleasing victory at LSU on Saturday.

West Virginia (4). Difference from the USA Today coaches poll: none. Beating Texas on the road was a big boost.

Alabama (5). Difference from the USA Today coaches poll: minus-four spots. The two big September games turned out to be blowouts of disappointing teams – Michigan and Arkansas – and the rest of the schedule has been easy.

south carolina is the only team in that bunch that i think makes sense at #1 besides Bama. florida is up and coming, but they're just not there yet. the running game is not very good.

soco is balanced and they have a ticked off defense and a great coaching staff. they are for real if the QB stays healthy doing all that running he's doing.

No disagreement here on most of what you've said about UofSC.

One thing seemingly ignored by most when talking about the game this past weekend is the point the OL was the weakest part of the Georgia team. Both tackles are very green. When you get down by double digits and have to adjust your game plan to make up for the deficit, it allows any defense to pin their ears back.

It's that point that makes the LSU game of even more interest. While they are dealing with injuries along the OL, what happens to the UofSC defensive front seven when the LSU staff keeps the TE's in pass pro?

That's without the human poll. With the USA Today poll Bama would still be ranked #1 in the BCS Standings.

Control our own destiny......no matter how much or how many times Lou Holtz will have Oregon, South Carolina, and Notre Dame ahead of Alabama.

Which once again brings this pertinent question to the forefront.

In which poll does his vote count?

I suspect we won't be discussing one of the three after this weekend.

And, as much as I dislike Notre Dame I hope they are still in the picture.

Considering the monies funneled to Will Lyles from Chip Kelly, seems to me it would serve him—and the Oregon program—to be one of more than two undefeated teams and get left out.
