I think we both got robbed. Utah beat Air Force and jumps Bama?

Auburn beats an unranked Ole Miss team on the road by an eerily simliar margin as Oregon beat an unranked USC on the road and they jump us? Oregon has beaten exactly ONE team with a winning record--USC. Every school Auburn has played with the exception of LA Monroe and Arkansas State have winning records. Those teams may have winning records, I'm too lazy to look it up and they don't really count anyway.

My point is--Oregon has looked dominant. I give them their props at that offense, against the talent they've played it certainly appears to be a thing of beauty. They just don't play anybody! It seems like some in the media still have this love affair with the Pac-10 from the early season projections that so many of their teams would be juggernauts.

I think we both got screwed royally. Auburn and Alabama both would kick the hell out of Utah, TCU or Boise State in my honest opinion. BSU's defense is WAY under-sized. Even on your o-line's worst day sheer size alone would take them out of the game. Either way it doesn't matter--one of the teams from Alabama will play for the title this year.

I think Bama is right where they need to be, in the BCS at this point... the best one loss team out there. there is still plenty of time for the BCS to "adjust" for the Boise States and TCU's to get a fair BCS ranking... While it MAY not be deserved for Auburn to drop 1 spot after winning... I do find it QUITE comical, that even winning doesn't keep Auburn at the top. a win vs UGA will probably boost Auburn over Oregon again.

People are fallable. That why AP and coaches "rankings" are subject to fail. Computers are only as good as the people that program them, and the data it uses. If AU wins out, they are playing in the BCS championship. If BAMA wins out, the chances are very, very high they will be #2 and playing for the BCS championship. No way does an undefeated Boise St or Utah/TCU beat out an unbeaten SEC team. No how. The odds are low they would even beat out an 1 lost SEC team.

I agree completely. But there is still alot of football left to be played. We are both in the same boat; win out and let the rest take care of itself. Auburn is not getting enough love in the Coaches and Harris polls but is #1 across the board with the computers. For Bama, we are getting no computer love - the computers think we have not had a difficult enough schedule. Apparently, the computer doesn't take into account a few things like; teams playing against teams coming off a bye, intra-conference rivalries, and having a bull's-eye on your back as defending BCSNC. Bama was listed as "biggest rival" by more schools than any other in the SEC. Not whining, just saying the computers don't account for enough.

Have y'all noticed how the AP is trying to force-feed Boise in its poll? Wouldn't surprise me if there was a split NC if Boise stays undefeated and doesn't make the big dance. Whoever Boise draws upon completion of their cupcake schedule in the Bowl season wil get my full support to drop those smurfs down a notch or two.

Nobody was robbed.

The situation is better this week for Alabama than it was last week with two BCS conference undefeated going down.

If either Alabama or Auburn were to win out and NOT go to the BCSNC game, THAT would be robbery.

I concur. Losing a game, no matter who it is against, or what the situation was heading into the game, is bad in a year where so many teams have remained undefeated. Let's get real here: I doubt we will finish with this many undefeateds, but let's not forget last year and how many undefeateds there were just before bowl selection day. 4, I believe? Alabama, Texas, TCU, and Boise. If Boise and TCU run the table again, and I think they will, that speaks to either how crappy their opponents were, or how AWESOME they both are, or some combination. Either way, they are both as deserving as Auburn or Oregon, and moreso than any team with a loss.

I want to see Auburn (if Bama can't beat them) and Boise, and I want to see Oregon and TCU/UTAH. Let's split it up, put the best against the best, and then play a plus one. Otherwise, no one wil say it's fair. So it's 1 vs. 4, and 2 vs. 3. Winner of TCU/UTAH. That assumes all four of them remain undefeated.

I might be the only person on this board to say it, but I don't think Alabama could BLOW OUT any of those 4 teams. I think we could beat any of them. But I don't think we could blow out any of them. And vice versa. It's pretty tight up there right now. Boise is good. TCU is good, probably more so than UTAH, but we'll find that out in a few days. Oregon appears awesome, and Cam Newton should win the Heisman UNANIMOUSLY, because no player has meant more to his team.

Allow me to correct something I said--I forgot about the Standford game when I referenced Oregon's opponents with winning records. That brings the grand total to two

I'd be happy with the BCS #2 spot. Especially after the SEC Championship game. The BCS is simply worthless right now. BAMA 15 on the computer rankings? Yeah, whatever.

Granted the BCS is useless at the moment and if we win-out it isn't an issue. It just floors me that the 1 & 2 both win--one by 20 and one by 21 and the #2 team jumps the #1 and proponents of the BCS still say it's not a flawed system! Utah may be the only team in the country with a softer schedule than Boise! I loathe stupidity. Unfortunately, college football is stuck with stupidity and if Boise somehow makes it in this year that will be all the proponent's "see, it does give them a chance!" moment.
