Was quite surprised to find Phil Steele in 2012 College Football Preview magazine predicting a Sooners versus Florida St ("Best Defense in the Country") Seminoles for the BCS Nat'l this year. Not saying yah or neh cuz... I know sh*t compared to experts... just find it interesting. Any thoughts?

FSU has a ton of talent coming back but they won't be there. They will blow it either against Clemson or Va Tech, or even both. Choklahoma has a fairly easy route since there is no Big 12 Title Game. Their being there has as much to do with how Texas rebounds in my opinion.

Florida State....good talent and good coaching staff and all but they're not at the elite stature everyone has them set out to be.

I picked Oklahoma to win it all actually. After last years dismal season, they have the motivation, the right QB, and many key components coming back to be a real contender. Think about it, all they're hearing right now is how good USC, LSU, Oregon, and really Bama is going to be and which of them are going to be playing for the National Title. Very favorable schedule (IMO Texas is still not back..), no conference championship gives them a week off. I like Oklahoma's chances.

I choose Oklahoma over LSU in the National Championship.

For either, they have to out distance;
1) an SEC Champ who bested toughest conference in the country,
2) Champ of a PAC12 conference that started the season with two of the top 4 teams, and
3) Champ of the Big10 conference who may feed is a tough path that both FSU and Oklahoma.
All three have a 13th game that is tougher than the ACC's and more than Oklahoma can boast.

Both need help.

FSU will implode. They've had a ton of talent the last couple of years and do nothing with it.

Oklahoma always finds a way to blow it. Even if they make it they'll lose to the SEC

We all know Bobby Stoops and OU will find a way to shoot themselves in the foot with the unloaded gun known as their schedule. FSU on the other hand looks great on paper yet I just don't trust EJ Manuel. He gets to scatter brained at times and we all know someone or more will end up in trouble and missing keys games. FSU has the better chance but we all know it will be the same as the last 6 years. SEC beats the tar out of whomever lines up against them in the BCS Title game.
