🏈 BCS national champion Alabama football nominated for 'Best Team' award at ESPYS

But could the Miami Heat beat Alabama? That might seem like a preposterous question, but we'll learn the answer at next month's ESPYS, as the Crimson Tide is one of seven teams nominated for the award show's "Best Team" award.

Along with the NBA champion Heat, the BCS National Champion Crimson Tide will be up against the Stanley Cup-winning Chicago Blackhawks, the Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens, the Women's College World Series champion Oklahoma Sooners, the 2012 World Series champion San Francisco Giants and the 2012 Olympic gold medal-winning U.S. women's gymnastics team.

Working against Alabama, which won its third national championship in the past four years, is that an NBA team has won this award the past two years.

It's up to the fans to determine a winner. You can click here to cast your vote.

Alabama had three nominees in 2012 -- football (best team), softball coach Patrick Murphy (best coach) and softball pitcher Jackie Traina (best female college athlete) -- but did not come home with any hardware.

This year's ESPYS, hosted by "Mad Men" star Jon Hamm, will air live July 17 at 8 p.m. CST on ESPN.
