🏀 GAME THREAD 🏀 SEC / NCAA Games of the Week: --

Florida does not seem like a good shooting team at all. Their bigs are really good at closing out driving lanes defensively. Then offensively, they can really space the floor and pass the ball well. But Fland and Xaivan Lee are a combined 2-9 from 3 and 4-13 from the floor.

Mizzou is making some really tough shots. Honestly, Florida is lucky it's only a six-point deficit right now. Mizzou has missed a plethora of open 3s.

UGA either needs to have the bulldog or the G on the court... having both looks stupid. Need to ditch the dog outline.
How many years have we seen fans complain about Coleman looking so dark on TV? UGA has blown out the candles and taken the cake there.

Steadman ... reminds me of the old joke about UGA and U.G.L.Y. The sad thing is their gym looks okay compared to some of the others. It's to a point in some games where the court is enough of a distraction it can be a little difficult to follow the game.

I really hope we try to get BJ Davis from SDSU in the portal of he transfers. He looks like a perfect guard for Oats.
How come we didn't see more of Bethea?
A couple of thoughts:

One of the quickest ways to get "yanked" is taking a bad shot. He did that to himself early on with a three attempt very early in the shot clock. Just a bad shot and he was subsequently benched.

Oats did mention he wished Bethea would have seen more minutes. But good lord, with the depth? That's easier said than done. Bethea will need to take advantage of his chances when he gets them.

I gotta say. You can be all over the place. In one breath you want to see more from Bama's bench and in the next breath you want to bring in another perimeter guy?

The barn athletic department is a clown show and reporters following them all get sucked into that clown show.... Why do they not just focus on themselves instead of bringing Bama into their we wish we were Bama world?

Michigan is interesting, they are built very well and very large. I like how they're handling things. I do worry for them, that this momentum will wear out come March but they're a very good team even if it does a bit.
The way things look now, they seem to be on a collision course with Arizona. We all know that it's still unlikely with how the NCAAT is set up + potential upsets, but still...what a game that would be. I think Michigan looks better overall right now, but you do wonder if they're peaking early.

They won't get tested in conference likely until they host Nebraska at the end of the month. Then they play at Michigan State (that'll be a fun atmosphere), then their next big conference test is at Purdue February 17th. Right after that, they play Duke.
