Pearl said something about seeing UT hit the 20 +/- mark as one of the main reasons he was picking the Vols to advance.

Using that logic Tennessee would have an advantage over everyone. The ones you listed have a 24 hour break, UT gets 29.

Bama and Oregon get a few extra hours of rest before game two, Tuesday. Michigan and Maryland are two teams with less than the 24 hour rest period.

To me, it would have made more sense to have the third place game Wednesday instead of Thursday.

Correct. If any of their opponents win on Monday, as did ut, and are playing in a later time slot on Tuesday, as is ut, then the advantage switches to that opponent.

St Johns blew it vs Iowa State. Their guard play is just not good. Pitino's squad is overrated (currently)

Oregon and auburn are playing. Oregon keeps missing wide open shots but they are rebounding well.

auburn's offball movement is nonexistent under Steven Pearl. I think they pass the ball very well and are very good at getting downhill. But it is a noticeable change from Bruce. They ran some very tough offensive sets under Bruce because he understood matchups very well. Steven likes to let them play hero ball.
