🏀 🏀 In other NCAA basketball action—Conference Championship Weekend

No clue what just happened at the end of the auburn/Vandy game... but the refs about stepped in it. Game was over, they put .03 back on the clock for some reason, Vandy goes to the foul line (for a foul nobody realized was called) with a 2 point lead. Misses the front end of a 1 and 1, and auburn player heaves it 90 feet and misses the 3 (barely) when it hits the back iron. Bottom line, auburn lost, so good. But damn.
I don't feel up to getting into the rule book right now. My gut tells me I've read a rule that specifically mentions that amount of time on the clock.

Missed all of that. I had already changed channels. I do remember there being .8 seconds left when Auburn inbounded after the last shot was made and the inbound pass being intercepted by Vandy. I didn't know they could put .03 on the clock and thought if there was .3 seconds or less left the ball could not be caught and shot but had to be tapped.

They've lost 4 of their last 5 (6 of their last 8). They'll beat Ole Miss next, but then they close @ Kentucky, @ The University, and get Tennessee at home. If they aren't careful, they will be on bubble talk very soon...
I feel like they already should be on the bubble. Their biggest OOC win was Northwestern. They got swept vs A&M, lost to Georgia, lost to Memphis, and lost to WVU. I honestly have no idea why some in the media consider them a lock for the NCAAT.

They may be. Only thing I thought might help some is that Vandy is trending up... but I admittedly pay little to no attention to backet projections until about the last week of the season.

After the game ended, I tried to rewind it to see if auburn even got the shot off with so little time left... they never showed a replay, but the YTTV DVR wouldn't go back since the hour changed and next program was on. Would have been hard to do, but it looked close live.

2-7 vs Q1, finishing with three Q1 teams (UK, UT, UA.)

IF Ole Miss were to pull a road upset this week?

AU is currently an #8 seed, #30 overall as averaged by 96 brackets (6th - 10th.)

Dari, on the SECN, said Vandy was fouled as he was throwing the ball up in the air. The review was for how much time was on the clock. By rule, if the shot would have gone in, I think they would have "blown it off." There's room for interpretation on how much time is allowed to shoot. .03 or less or less than .03?

Those asking "why blow the whistle" have a point.

At least they have the strong OOC strength of schedule to lean on. [chuckle]
Over half of those are trending down in NET.

Get this. Their regular season finish looks like three losses. They're at the six seed in the SECT with the loss to Vandy with Arkansas and Mizzou a game back. They're probably going to end up as a 7 seed in the tourney with a decent chance of falling to #8 ... with Bama on their tourney schedule. I'd rather not see Bama play Auburn for the third time this season.
