🏀 🏀 Bama closes out Battle 4 Atlantis with 83-68 win over Southern Miss

There is NOBODY behind him Terry...nobody. Nate has some of that bad injury luck following him that is after Nick. I do believe we have a coach that can get it done but the problem is can he recruit enough talent to Bama. JMO but I believe Nate could get talented players to Buffalo easier that he can get them to Alabama.

Why on Earth would anyone think he could not get talent to Alabama? What does Memphis offer? What does Auburn offer? What does Georgia offer? What does LSU offer? One made the Final Four and the others all have signed high end recruits while not offering very much on the court. So I can't understand why Tuscaloosa is anymore difficult to pull talent than any I just mentioned off the top of my head.

UGA bb HAS SUCKED for 10 years...LSU just started to roll. The barn has a great coach even though we don't like him. Grant nor Avery could recruit enough talented players (not rankings) to Bama. The instate talent isn't good enough to move Bama up.

I know Georgia has sucked, but they still signed a Top 10 recruit in Anthony Edwards. Auburn does have a great coach, but what has he honestly produced as far as NBA talent or trophies at Auburn or Tennessee? I brought up every one of those teams because they are bringing in talent, but don't have the pedigree or history of a Kansas, North Carolina, Duke, or Kentucky. Avery was in the process of getting talent to Tuscaloosa. It takes a few years to get that one or two guys to change the atmosphere and then it attracts more. Look no further than our very own football program for how Saban turned it around with one recruit, Julio. I'm just saying getting guys to Tuscaloosa will not be the challenge, it's hoping they all hit at the same time.

Petty and Sexton were supposed to put us into rarified air as far as Alabama basketball goes, but it has taken Petty longer to acclimate, and he is finally showing a ton of growth from when he came to Tuscaloosa. Nkt every 5-Star can and won't be a sure fire Lottery Pick. Him and Kira give us solid talent, we just do not have the depth due to NCAA BS and injuries.

After watching games this season it looks like Coach O is running a faster offense than his players are capable of playing. Alabama has some talent but they are trying to play so fast the results are throw aways, bad passes, and playing out of control. Just an opinion.

I can agree with your post above @bamanc50. But I also have to consider them playing at a slower pace the last several years and making the same mistakes of throwing the ball away, sloppy telegraphed passes, losing the handle trying to dribble and playing out of control.

Iowa seemed to shoot a very high percentage last night, whether we were guarding close or loosely. And several times , we fouled the shooter on their 3 point attempts, which they were hitting. It's hard to defeat a team that wasn't missing many shots.

I agree. For the past 2 - 4 years Lewis, Petty, Jones, Reese, & Smith have played at a much slower pace and now they’re being coached from the time they get the ball shoot it after 12 - 15 seconds. That is a big difference. Also it’s early and they are still learning to play at this fast pace.

Just turned it on and we were up big but Southern Miss went on a run. I may have to turn it back off if I am bad luck smh.

What little I have seen the team is simply careless with the basketball. Playing faster than their skills?

USM went on a run because Bama's hot shooting went ice cold. They scored on their first nine possessions. After that...USM found a way to crawl sort of back into this. Bama's still up 9, 33 - 24.

I watched Petty drive the lane and basically had a layup but he bounced it out to the 3 point shooter who of course missed it. These are decision making issues. He could have been anticipating a defender that never came but shoot the high percentage layup. Been pretty sad shooting and reckless play since I started watching.

These guys need to pull 1 game out. Do not need to drop all three.

Still giving effort but the pace is so up tempo it just always feels out of control. Also, sitting at 50% from the free throw line right now.

Bama is up by 12 with 3:45 left. 73-61

I realize that whom ever runs the official twitter account for MBB is expected to be optimistic/glass half full, but this tweet has so much Fail (other than the expected jabs/comments that it generated)

Celebrating our 7th place finish in an 8 team tournament?
