🏀 🏀 2026-27 Roster News and Portal Updates: TBB is entering the portal.

As in previous years, this thread will be updated as roster news happens. The transfer portal for college basketball opens on April 7th and closes on April 21st. But many players will announce their intentions to transfer beforehand. We will keep the thread updated with all the news, possible roster additions and subtractions. I'm not sure where you're going with this....

You have to remember he is not the only one... not just at Alabama, but everywhere else.

What does the NCAA test for during the year-round program?
  • Anabolic Agents.
  • Diuretics and masking agents.
  • Peptide hormones, growth factors, related substances and mimetics.
  • Hormone and metabolic modulators (anti-estrogens).

I think it's irrelevant to how long he has been smoking, how long he has been buying, etc. I don't see how it's related to his activities on the court in some ways.... I'm glad you said it's an assumption you made, but it's a dangerous one though.

Even through he was indicted by the grand jury today, I still think we need to wait and see approach with him.
I was not really going anywhere else. But if you need further explanation. I admit, I don't hang with younger people and don't know their inclinations. But, I would bet my hat that when younger teenagers start smoking weed, it can be expensive. Especially if the use becomes habitual. It becomes a lifestyle. With some, a light comes on. buy a quantity, sell most and smoke for free. Yes that is an assumption I made about someone I do not know. I have known many like him that have traveled that road. Yes it can be a dangerous path for those who involve themselves in that king of behavior, not dangerous for me.

You will be fooling yourself if you believe that habitual drug users, reefer included, does not take away some motivation in some areas of their lives. I have seen it, I have lived it. I used to be a young man, then I grew older and realized that I am mortal.

The mistake is when casual use becomes a habitual abuse lifestyle. I've been around.

For context... I grew up in a neighborhood full of drug users... I knew so many crackheada and they often came to my mom asking for money and food. So believe me I'm familiar with the concept of what drugs does to people. I've been in that situation with the girl's mom since she's on drugs and lost custody of kids.

My best friend died of drug overdose. I've seen it all . Lows and highs . Cocaine, marijuana, and etc.

There are people who benefits from smoking weed and some depends on it to function.. some use it to cope with anxiety, so I know the conversation is off subject a little but we can't just assume something about someone just because we seen what it does to people.

Yeah, I know people have valid reasons for smoking reefer. But the vast majority smoke to get high and have a "good time". I know of at least two mothers who gave up custody of their children, voluntarily, so they could continue their drug fueled lifestyle. Both much younger than me and sadly both passed away many years ago because of their addictions.

WE both know that a person sitting on more than 2 lbs most likely didn't buy it to smoke it all.
We also know that high profile athletes are treated a little differently in a court of law than average people like you and me. Only guessing here, but I believe his sentence will be a lot lighter than an average person's caught with that much smoke. First offense or not.

Here's Oats (and Hodgson) on the Field of 68 Podcast from earlier this afternoon... I mentioned after Bama's loss to Michigan that Oats would step back and alter/adjust things to make the team better. He's not the type that just stays the course... he's always looking to evolve and improve. He talks about some of those things in this interview...

With the extra infusion of $$ on the basketball side (Expected somewhere around $1-2 million more to use for next years roster and the possibility of going even deeper into pockets if necessary. I'd expect us to make some moves this off-season. I don't think TBB is the only transfer we shall see leaving either.

Retaining players will be important over the next few days as well, just as much as Bama is in the hunt for some good options we will need to stave off some large $$ schools like Kentucky and such from trying to poach players. Allen remains priority #1 at the moment, IMO. If he's not projecting in the 1st then we want to make sure he doesn't go elsewhere.

I've heard as much as four million more than last year. It's just like a coaching search in my view. The money will come if it's the right name.

How many kids on the roster are like TBB? He thinks "this is my value." Alabama says, "this is what we consider your value to be."

Just a guess. If we visit this thread a year from now we'll see Bama having spent 10+ million on the roster. UK will have doubled that amount. And they still won't be above Bama in the SEC standings come seasons end, '27.
