🏀 GAME THREAD 🏀 2025-26 Season Archived Game Threads.

I got curious. There's no ML on the game tonight. Bama is -32.5.

I noticed a parlay on ESPNBet that has the total tonight at Over 168.5 with a few other legs.

What's a little crazy is you can find some BIG money lines tonight. You might look at Vandy playing Lipscomb and see -20,000. Okay, right? But then you look at Bethune-Cookman...who is playing Auburn with that ML at -100,000. Geez.

Just my observations from last night. Basketball officiating sucks donkey balls once again!!! Top 15 matchup and they had to make the game about them.80+ FTs??? WTH?
We really missed Sherrell last night. He has become our rim protector. Williamson just isn't a quick leaper and even though he is a 7 footer, he is a liability. Just how good is Philon? I believe we win with him on the floor. He makes everyone else better. I don't like the offense facilitating through Holloway. I love him as a catch and shoot, coming off of ball screens. Amari Allen is a freaking monster!!! Should Philon need a breather, run the offense thru Allen. Wrightsell is hurt and his shot is suffering. Just from my viewpoint, Oats and Bethea aren't on the same page and I actually think it is because their personalities are close to identical. Both are fiery and competitors. I think Oats is trying to reign him in a little too much. Bowen? Quick leaper with a horrible shot. I believe he lets the ball get too deep into his hand, on his palm and not his fingertips. We see it short, to the right, etc. Bristow, high motor that gets caught watching too much rather than moving. We really need to get healthy, but that will be unlikely, with us rolling into SEC play. Maybe back off intensity in practices, more walk thru and shoot arounds.
My starting 5 would be Philon, Allen, Holloway, Sherrell, and Bristow.

So depth perception ... :devilish:
for Memorial Gym? Yep!! It's crazy how a set up not even close to the floor can screw with your depth perception. I recall when I coached, we would always suck ass playing at Talladega HS. Their gym sits in the middle of their school, like a rotunda. You didn't have the traditional four walls. I recall playing in Bartow areana my senior year and struggling in the first half. The distance in color of those four walls was the issue.

It goes both ways. Coincidentally, a gym I've played in a few times in Nashville was in a cracker box on the end lines and corners. 8", maybe. They had a dashed line inside the playing court to represent the space you had on in-bounds. The stands were between the hash marks...straight up. Weird, weird set up but I couldn't seem to miss in that place.

(Weird school. College prep that was in White ____ outside of Nashville. Ironically, they lost tax exempt status back in the early '70's ... as I recall they couldn't defend admissions weren't on racial lines. Scholarshipped teams.)

Just when I'm starting to get used to the idea that Texas is a part of the SEC I read this and it just doesn't read right. I know it's true; but it strikes me as, well, odd. I was three years old.

I did see the score; Bama won fairly decisively, 90-78.

We've talked about injuries a lot because there have been a lot. Hearing Oats talk about Wrightsell? Geez. Achilles, then the other, the finger, pulled groin muscle...

Did you guys realize we've only seen two Bama players in every game this season and both are role players?

The last time I looked Bama was giving 12.5

In case you missed this it's Karl Ravech and Jimmy Dykes on the call. If I were on the court and heard Dykes say "...and the Roll Tide goes ..." I would throw the ball and hit him in the nose. I would apologize while handing him a towel for the bleed (covered in Biofreeze.)

I'll listen to State @ Kentucky with Hendrix on PBP tonight.

Philon listed as probable.

Texas played UConn fairly close. Sean Miller is still good coach, so he can put together a good plan to make this game interesting. But Alabama can definitely win by double digits if they are playing well. The high turnovers vs Vandy really worried me. Hopefully we see the same effort on the boards as we saw vs Vandy. I think Oats has found a way to alleviate the rebounding issues with Allen and Jemison.

All I've heard on Hannah is "medical condition."
Collins is his heart.
Wrightsell his Achilles (and others.)
Sherrell the knee.
Philon is that cramping thing (which is still weird.)
