🏀 GAME THREAD 🏀 2025-26 Season Archived Game Threads.

I got curious. There's no ML on the game tonight. Bama is -32.5.

I noticed a parlay on ESPNBet that has the total tonight at Over 168.5 with a few other legs.

What's a little crazy is you can find some BIG money lines tonight. You might look at Vandy playing Lipscomb and see -20,000. Okay, right? But then you look at Bethune-Cookman...who is playing Auburn with that ML at -100,000. Geez.

Other than the fact that Vandy (as a whole) has finally worked their way into the tightly bunch of SEC programs I loathe, and the fact that they now own the (likely to not matter) SEC tiebreaker over Bama.... I'm not too bothered by that loss. First off, Vandy is good. IMO, they aren't as good as some think they are, but they are really good. And for Bama to lose like that without Serrell to patrol the paint and Philon going out 4 min ntes into the 2nd half with 18 points on a night he was dealing with cramps... IMO, a healthy Bama team handles them and I hate we don't get to see a rematch in Tuscaloosa.

But, Bama needs to figure something out an get healthy. I can't help but wonder if some of these guys hurt couldn't maybe show a bit more toughness and play. At least some minutes.

Neither am I. Hell, call me claiming a moral victory. No AS, Philon goes out, and to me it looked like Wrightsell was a step slow favoring his ankle.

I mentioned scoring defense before the game and it is easy to see why they are ranked where they are after last night. But, we can't point to that.

We'll see some things that define why a team lost a game. How often do you see something that defines it as clearly as these numbers?

20 percent from the bench on the 3-ball and this is a W.

100% agree.

Vanderbilt was 100 mph all night. They were aggressive, got to the basket, and fought. Everything you want from your team.

That being said, the refs were terrible, we were ice cold from three, and not playing with two of our "guys".

Sounds like a bunch of excuses, but we fought hard to get back in the game, took a lead, and fought back again to make it close. Philon being out was noticeable and likely caused the loss. Having his steady handling and getting to the rim ability not there put more pressure on us to hit outside shots thay did not fall. Passing and handling struggled and it just got away from us. We win 7 out of 10 from what I saw last night against them.

I wish someone would set fire to that damn arena is my only analysis of this game. I HATE that gymnasium.
I ask myself this question everytime I see a team struggle shooting in Memorial. If the backboards were opaque, would it make a difference? I understand why we see very little from bench guys: the depth perceptions in that gym are just weird. I've only been there once for a basketball game and I found it odd looking at the goals from the stands.

If they did it would take out the football and baseball fields too. Never seen a place where everything was stacked on top of each other before until I went up there for the football game. I get they are a landlocked, but damn.

I understand going cold shooting the ball. The lack of defense and rebounding that is something I will never understand. Yes, I know we were without Sherrill last night.
We actually rebounded fairly well last night. Amari Allen and London Jemison both had 11.

Problem was just garbage defense, poor shot selection, and Alabama turning it over at a high clip. I understand the concept of Oats' scheme, but there is zero reason Bol Bowen should be taking five three points attempts. Swing the ball better. Also rotations really didn't make much sense. I thought Wrightsell played too much.

Most of his shots were short and hit front rim all night.
