🏀 GAME THREAD 🏀 2025-26 Season Archived Game Threads.

I got curious. There's no ML on the game tonight. Bama is -32.5.

I noticed a parlay on ESPNBet that has the total tonight at Over 168.5 with a few other legs.

What's a little crazy is you can find some BIG money lines tonight. You might look at Vandy playing Lipscomb and see -20,000. Okay, right? But then you look at Bethune-Cookman...who is playing Auburn with that ML at -100,000. Geez.

Rinse wash and repeat in the 2nd half. Oats being schooled and the team being shown what defense and elite play looks like. About as pathetic of a half as you get. When you cannot do more in the front court and the other team guards the perimeter at a high level basically taking away your reall shooters you get this non sense. I mean 22 and 7 taking the shots coming out of half is doing exactly what Az wanted.

Why is Oats finally calling a timeout at the 3 minute mark down 20 points? Just head sratching coaching in the 2nd half. Az basically turned the D up and Bama quit because it was hard I guess. More of the same giving up offense rebounds. This team is what it is. 22 is playing better but gotta have more than one person down low playing that that level.

Forced Arizona to play at our pace in the first half. Come out in the second half with zero plan, play slower, turn the ball over, and allow Bol Bowen and Sherrell to a multitude of 3s. Just a dumb second half gameplan. And then as all the momentum is mounting on Arizona's side, Oats decides to sub in Noah Williamson to counter it.

I love Oats to death. Best coach in program history. He still makes incredibly dumb coaching decisions at times. His in-game adjustments when things aren't going his way are questionable. Arizona completely dictated our offense. Thing is, I don't even think they did anything spectacular to throw Alabama off. Philon, Holloway, Wrightsell, and Bol Bowen all forced everything and turned it over. Once Arizoma took the lead, we saw the same thing we did vs Purdue and Gonzaga - bad shot selection, forced shots, and turnovers. Then Oats decides not to take a timeout despite a 28-6 run. I get wanting to play through runs, but there are times you HAVE to regroup your guys.

I am once again asking for Brian Adams to be fired. His defenses are routinely lost. The transition D is nonexistent; rebounding again is a major issue; and he never identifies good matchups. Bradley was killing Holloway and Philon. Why not put Davion Hannah on him? Or Bethea?

Also, just because Arizona has a low volume of 3s on the year doesn't mean they're not going to take open looks. Tommy Lloyd mentored Mark Few for 20+ years. He may focus a lot more on ball movement and getting a high percentage shot inside, but he's an analytical guy like Oats. The defensive gameplan must seriously have been "if they're open, just let them shoot it" because multiple guys just did not even attempt to close out. Dumb as hell. They have talented players on their roster. They'll take an open shot all day.

Just loads of questionable decision making. I don't think Alabama should have gotten blown out.

Live and learn I guess. 0-3 vs elite teams...

You have to know the game plan to defend Bama is pretty easy. Defend the perimeter. Not all teams can do that at the level needed but the real national championship contenders can and then Bama has no answer.

It sure didn't feel like Bama shot better than them 45% to 43%.... but I guess you can do that and still get your ass handed to you when they get up 28 more shots in the game.

Arizona is a damn good squad. They'll bully most teams around. Sherrell showed grit by having as many blocks as he did.

Alabama still loses this game by 10, even if Oats utilizes timeouts correctly. The rebounding is atrocious. I don't think anyone is coached to put two hands on the ball at all. Just constant ball watching, losing position, and chaos every possession.

That said, this game should not have been a blowout. Bad coaching tonight.
