Dang, messed around and forgot about the game. Missed the first half and 6 mins of the second half. team played valiantly the part I watched.
BIG WIN. Finally got that Tenn monkey off their back, hopefully for a long time to come.

May have been a different outcome if Ament had not have gotten hurt.

I’m talking about people implying that he keeps the ball too much & pretty much implying that he needs to have a reduced role
In fairness, it had happened at times when Alabama would be at a big deficit (vs Arkansas, down 14) and in other games. Also Holloway has been playing at an elite level as the primary ball handler. The offense can go through Philon, even with him playing more offball. I'm still of that opinion that Holloway could lead at point. Just have to ensure Philon gets the share of the rock because he is our best slasher.

Alabama thankfully has a luxury of multiple guys with good handles. It creates mismatches and opportunities for more blow bys without having to have a high ball screen.

True, but you have to admit- there’s a certain segment of the fan base that has a VERY quick trigger finger when it comes to shitcanning (and shitting on) Bama players!

Oats commenting about given up so many rebounds and they had 22 more shots than us, the probability of winning that game was low. Fortunately the Viles missed a lot of those rim shots on some of those rebounds. I think they hIt 53% around the rim which was huge for Bama. We also had more 3's and FTs. Most everything else was slanted towards the Viles. Probably won one we should not have won but glad we did, Gritty win and keeps the momentum...

Two more games UGA and the Barn... Lets find a way to win out with those two games. The team has a lot of positives but the inside rebounding is what it is so I do not see a magic cure. The recipe for this team is to shoot at a high level, keep turnovers low and hit free throws and see how far it will take them.

I've heard people wonder aloud this week if Bama was better off without him. Passink even referenced it after the game... laughed at the notion.

I don't think we're better without him, but Holloway is the better shooter in my eyes. Philon gets to the rim more, and early in the 2nd Half when we worked on coming back he was 2-2, and then Philon had two straight misses. You keep feeding the hot hand in my mind, not trying to manage it yourself.

In the end, Philon clicked and took the team on his back. Luckily he went off. Either way, it was a great team win and we are lucky to have each of these guys, and the others on this team.

In the last game 66% of their FGA's came from two players: Avent and Gillespie. 53 of their 79 points. Now they add Holloway and Allen in the mix. UT's Estrella had seven attempts in the last matchup. He's not healthy. It looks like TBB is getting his legs back.

This one has such a different dynamic than the last loss.

Oh, Bama was less than 25% for 3PA's last time around...don't see that happening again either.
Karma.

AH and AA didn't add much to the point total. They added minutes. Both were over 25 and I think it was 14 points. (I closed the tab on the box score...so this is clouded memory)

I say karma because of Ament. Two points. Gillespie? He had his game and Estrella did his thing.

38, then 36, for an average of 37 percent from behind the arc. The last 11 sealed the deal.

Get this. There were only 21 FT's in the game. But, if you look at the highlights, you can see both teams avoiding contact and allowing baskets. I don't think anyone will bitch at 11-13. UT was on the line 8 times last night to Bama's 13...where was this game played?

UT beat Bama at home with two guys last time around. This time, Bama beat UT at home with two guys. Philon scored 23. If you take AH and LW out, the rest of the team scored 23. Makes me shake my head a bit.
