No. 8 Alabama baseball returns to action on Tuesday, April 7, for a midweek contest with Samford. The Crimson Tide has won each of the last 12 matchups with the Bulldogs, dating back to 2019.

Bama wins it, 16-2 in 7 innings.

JT Blackwood got his usual midweek start and held Samford in check, going 4 2/3, giving up just 2 runs. Connor Lehman took over for him and then Anthony Pesci finished things out in the 7th. At the plate, Bama scored early and often... putting up 4 spots in the 1st, 3rd, 5th, and 6th innings. Freshman Chase Kroberger got his first start of the season (LF) and went 1-2 with 2 walks and a SB (his lone hit was his first collegiate hit and was a HR). Fellow freshman Eric Hines also got the start at DH and had his best game of the season, going 3-3 with a HR, 3 runs, 3 RBI, and HBP. In all, The Tide pounded out 13 hits as a team. With the victory, Bama extended their home win streak to 18 games and Rob Vaughn earned his 100th win at Alabama.
