From Tuesday night...

Bama had 3 different players removed because of injuries... Fowler (hit by pitch in helmet, didn't appear to be too serious), Osterhouse (hopefully just a leg cramp and nothing worse), and reliever Kaden Humphrey (arm issue after 2 pitches which is concerning).

Unfortunately, it was bad news on Humphrey... he was in line to be a high leverage guy... he's now headed for Tommy John surgery...

Tonight's game got a later start thanks to some storms in the area earlier, but Bama handled their business. Other than giving up a 2 run HR, Tyler Fay was very sharp on the mound... good command and good movement on his pitches. He went 7 innings, gave up the 2 runs on 4 hits, K'd 11 (10 of them swinging), and walked just 1. Some good news for the Bama offense... and buddy, this team needs good news on offense.. Justin Osterhouse, who is a notoriously slow starter at the plate, may have broken out of his early season slump. He went 4 for 5 on the night with a double and a HR. This lineup really needed his bat to get going... hopefully he's found his groove now. Mr. Consistent, Brady Neal added 3 hits of his own... he's been a steady presence in the lineup so far this season. Obviously, North Florida isn't North Carolina in terms of baseball talent, but Bama came out tonight and played well, they looked focused and ready to play. That was good to see. They'll play game 2 tomorrow at 2 pm, depending on weather. Have a feeling it may get moved up a couple hours based on the forecast.

Osterhouse's HR...

Let me know what the "Bistro Roasted Veggies" is about. Is that just a brand name?

They do a a couple different versions of roasted squash and zucchini dishes. Don’t remember what they call it. Also lots of roasted potato dishes. Those are usually pretty tasty.

I keep seeing this "Tortilla Chips with White Queso and Red Roasted Peppers" on the menus. That's great, by its sound. But when I see it on the menu for Coleman as well? Now I'm seeing a 200 oz can of cheese dip...

And it was before 8, your time, and you were thinking about food at "The Joe?" LOL!

The queso nacho bar is good. I think they make their own tortilla chips like Mexican joints do. But I usually don’t get them unless the other food sucks.

Nice. It sounds like they're going for a "Mediterranean" style dish...like those!
The queso nacho
To this day every time I see "queso" I immediately think of Pepito's. Maybe it's just the memory...I'll still swear it was the best I've had.

I think there’s still a Pepitos in Jasper- wonder if it’s the family/company?
I don't know. The one on University when I was in school ... it was one of two places where I didn't talk to people. They were school/reading places. I have no idea who owned the place. They didn't talk to me because they realized I was there to read.
