Will update thread with portal, roster, and staff news and such and it happens... The Baseball Transfer Portal opens to all players on Monday (June 2) and closes on July 1st.

Mentioned the other day that he was gonna be on A&M’s short list if they made the move. They didn’t, but Byrne was ready for it.

I'm for it, despite going 0-4 in the regionals. He's got to get his team to start peaking at the end the season. But Byrne is very involved in the program and I think he talks with Vaughn a lot. So he's all in on his plan and is going to do his part to support it.

Byrne needs to work on better fan festivities though. Stop pricing out the average joe.

Agree. I would imagine they probably handcuffed themselves some with the current concessions contract, but even if so, that wont last forever. They can prove they care and do something about it in the near future... I won't hold my breath. In the meantime, there's other things that could be done too, but for whatever reason, it just doesn't seem to be a priority. I see Byrne as some of the games, but there's always an official from the AD's office there. So I know they see the same issues I (and you, and many others) see.

Righty reliever portals to Bama... will be a high leverage arm out of the pen... He had 46 K's in 29.1 IP and batters hit .206 of him this season at North Florida.

Also, and this is a big one... word is leaking out that Justin Lebron is staying put for his final year at UA. On one hand, not surprising, he likes it here and his family and Vaughn have a close relationship. He's a good kid and they are really solid themselves. But, the amount of pressure and some offers had to be difficult to turn down. Kudos to him (and them) for doing it, you don't see that type of loyalty often, because there is NO WAY Bama can pay him what some others could have.

Supposedly things have been solid since his postseason meeting with Vaughn days ago, but I was honestly expecting to see some Instagram graphic or some such from his account, which seems to be the rule of thumb these days in a case like this. When none came all week, it gave me pause.

UA picks up another infielder… This will be his 4th and final stop. Began at LSU, last season played for South Alabama where he hit .303. He’s got a little pop in his bat and some speed.

Alton Davis II back in the portal. I was surprised that he didn’t have a bigger impact with UGA, but not sure if maybe he was hurt some. Regardless, he’s far too talented for a good pitching coach to pass on (unless he’s asking for a lot of money). Raw, but electric stuff and IMO if harnessed could easily be an MLB pitcher in time.
