⚾ 🥎 ⚾ Bama Baseball offseason moves and news...

Newest pickup... John Lemm, a catcher for Southern Illinois (originally from Australia). He will be a Sr. next season. He played 55 games this past season, hit .272 with 19 HR's and a very nice (and needed) BB:K ratio with 45 walks and 36 K's. He's also got some sneaky speed on the bases, especially for a catcher. Lemm originally committed to West Virginia this portal cycle, but decided to reopen things when it became clear the WV starting catcher (and MLB prospect) Logan Sauve would likely stick around for 1 more season.

Nice pick up! Sweet stroke from the left side!

We might get Nate Taylor, UGA transfer. That'd be a good get.

As impressive as Wes Johnson has been early on at UGA, I just don't see him having long term success if he sticks with this flip the roster via portal strategy every year. UGA Baseball is more likely to become what MSU football was under Sherrill.

Another transfer in the fold... RHP Tyler Boubreau, from Texas Tech. 1 year remaining on eligibility... has been a starter and reliever, but mostly a starter last year. In 10 starts, went 1-4, 6.65 ERA, 49 K's (and 23 BB) in 47 IP. Opponents hit .254 off of him.

23 walks lol. I'm not optimistic at all about next season pitching wise.

Another RHP. 5.25 ERA

Crimson Coverage's blurb there is a tad misleading since Steig didn't play this past season (recovering from TJ surgery). But he will be a very strong candidate for a weekend rotation spot, I'd imagine he's penciled in there already. Looks like he's got pretty good stuff, just hope he comes back healthy and ready to go.
