🏈 Barn practice so hard break noses of.....

My favorite are the type who think by calling 911 and being tx to the e/r by ambulance that they will be taken straight back and be seen right away. I would call in a patient rpt with the following, " It is this medic's opinion that this patient my be evaluated further at triage." As soon as we would roll in the door the charge nurse would tell us, "They can go to triage." The patient would flip when we rolled them to the waiting room and tell them to "have a seat." Or the ones who would call the e/r and see how busy they were before calling 911 for their "emergency."
Or the ones who had their suitcase packed and meet us at the curb, with their "chest pains."

Or...

Right. So instead of taxpayers paying for it in the ER we pay for it in "Preventive Clinics".

Pretty dumb idea.

And what's civilized about socialized health care?? Anyone that knows anything about it scoffs at the idea.

I'll tell you what. Why don't you next time you're injured fly to one of these civilized countries and tell me how that works out for you.
And findout what the tax rate in that country is while your there, receiving "free health care."

The ones addicted to every pain killer EXCEPT hydromorphone or fentanyl.

My favorite thing to say on the radio is, "is this patient a candidate for triage?"

At least when I worked in New Orleans, people were more honest about it. Charity used to serve them an egg sandwich if they asked for food. I would have patients tell me , " hey man, all I really want is an egg sammich." If they were honest enough to tell me, I was compassionate enough to get them some decent food.

Agreed. I don't mind feeding the hungry. Allowing a homeless person a bed in which to sleep if the ER's not stupid busy. What I hate are "suicidal" patients and fucking junkies. I hate drug seeking with all my might. Only thing I hate more are doctors that appease junkies/seekers.

Grady in Atlanta has a problem with folks calling an ambulance for chest pains, and when they get to the hospital they just walk off after receiving a very expensive, but free, taxi ride.
